You know, I feel like now I have a place to talk I have nothing to say. Is there such thing as stage fright when there’s no one in the audience? It’s so weird to broadcast your thoughts and know someone somewhere could read what you’re saying and maybe even agree.
I thought I could maybe start out with a tag or something so people who stumble on this page could get a general gist of who I am and what I’m like before deciding whether or not they’d want to continue reading, or you know, if you by some miracle find this blog before I’ve managed to post any more, maybe it’ll entice you to come back. I’m a big advocate for online communities being places where people can interact and find new friends, interests, and ideas. I highly doubt I’ll create one of those places but I might be able to talk about other platforms and events online that could be of interest.
I thought I’d try the Book Blog Newbie Tag, which I think is more or less the same as the Booktube Newbie Tag. Which goes as follows.
Question 1: Why did you start this blog?
I started this blog as a way to ease myself further into the conversation surrounding books and whatnot online. Blogging seems like a somewhat less invasive way to put myself out there because I really don’t think I’m up for Booktube videos or anything for a multitude of reasons the primary one being a strong amount of self-consciousness. I plan to use my blog for my own benefit in teaching myself a new perception of the value of my voice and opinions while also being creative. I absolutely love photography too and I really hope I can embellish my posts with some of my own photography to hone and develop that skill too.
Question 2: What are some fun and unique things you can bring to book blogging?
I will say I’m not a fluffy personality type, though I do try to be as inclusive and inoffensive as I can be, my bluntness and sharp sense of humour are definitely things I intend to bring to this blog. I also plan to abuse Grammarly to no end because I cannot type for the life of me, always hitting the wrong keys in a race against nothing. In terms of uniqueness, however, this might fall more under the lifestyle portion of the blog but I’m currently undergoing my own mental health journey. It might have been years long and still in process so far, but I have picked up along the way and I’m interested in sharing that and naturally, it does spill over into reading.
Question 3: What are you most excited for about this new blog?
I’m mainly excited to see what happens. Right now it’s all about the amount of possibility surrounding this new adventure.
Question 4: Why do you love reading?
The short answer? Because I can. The longer answer might be its own post but in order to not be that annoying bitch plugging something that doesn’t even exist yet I’ll say my mental health has a strong hold on how many books I currently read.
Question 5: What book or series got you reading?
The first book I read after years and years of not lifting a single book unless I had to for academic reasons was The Shining by Stephen King in September/ October 2018. Before that when I was ten years old or thereabouts I remember the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer being something of an obsession, as it was for a lot of young people at the time.
Question 6: What questions would you ask your favourite authors?
It’s only February 2019 now and I’ll be honest with you I really don’t have a favourite author yet. I’m working hard to figure out what genres work for me and what don’t. From there I’ll find series and authors from there but for now, I’ve got nothing.
Question 7: What challenges do you think starting a blog will be the hardest to overcome?
Oof okay, I think my personal challenges will be similar to anyone who’s new, coming up with ideas, developing a posting schedule, not getting disheartened when there’s literally zero engagement at all.
Question 8: When did you start reading?
I’ve kind of touched on this a few questions ago, but I’ve only been reading for maybe five months at this point. In that time I’ve read over thirty books. And in comparison with the zero books prior I don’t think that’s half bad.

Question 9: Where do you read?
This question’s a bit boring I’m not going to lie. Like what do you want me to say? ‘I read exclusively on one of the tallest peaks of the Alps’? I read where everyone else reads, in bed, in the living room, on the bus, in the library. Not wherever I can. Just in comfy quiet spaces or when I’m bored.
Question 10: What kind of books do you read?
I’m really exploring my genres right now. I’m currently reading IT by Stephen King and Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I’m really enjoying horror, thriller, and fantasy. In both YA and adult reading.
Welcome to the book blogging world!! ❤ Can't wait to see more of your posts! Enjoy the process.
